Detox Routine for your skin – 6 easy steps for a weekly clean up!
You must be familiar with the idea of detox but have you ever thought about doing a detox for your skin? This year has been different, more stress and less sun, so your skin might not be tanned or dull but it must be tired and that's for sure. The idea of a detox is to put your skin on a fasting routine for a week, a deep clean up followed by a minimal routine. You can try it once a month, it really helps your skin to rest and reset.
At-home Clean up kit
The time might not be safe for you to step out and get pampered but don’t worry, here’s a step by step guide to get glowing skin,
Start with a mild cleanser
You can always double cleanse using cleansing oil or balm, if not double cleansing, make sure to use a hydrating face wash. You should not go for a squeaky clean feel, it strips off all the oils and makes your skin extremely sensitive and irritated, chooses a mild and clean cleanser for your face.
Take steam or a moist warm compress
It’s important to clean the pores if your skin is really sensitive then try a warm towel compression otherwise go for steam. Avoid putting any fragrant oils in your bowl, it can clog the pores and make your skin congested.
A gentle scrub is next
Avoid using harsh granulated scrubs and choose a creamy, nourishing scrub for your skin type. You can try Ikkai’s Papaya or Almond face scrub, both of them are really soft and gentle on the skin.
Time for a mask
It’s the best part and undoubtedly the most relaxing too, if you would love to try some best organic skin care products then don’t forget to check out Ikkai’s fruity face packs and souffles, really effective and mild. Enjoy the moment and read your favourite book or make something nice to eat, self-care is fun right?
Toner for the pores
Most of us do skip it but it’s necessary for your pores, it soothes the skin and tightens the pores so the goodness of the mask can stay locked in your skin.
Last comes the moisturizer
Choose something lightweight and nourishing, some ceramides and peptides to heal and strengthen the skin barrier.
Now when you’re done with a healthy clean up session, give some rest to your skin for a few days or a week by following a minimal CTM routine and nothing extra. Eat clean and stay hydrated, let your skin breathe without the products and treatments, you’ll definitely see a change.
Cheers to a healthier you in 2020 and beyond!
