Know Your Face Mask – Textures and What’s Best for your Skin

We actually do care about the textures of everything skincare, from cleansers to serums, but do you really think about the texture of your mask? There are so many types of face packs in the beauty skin care products store and not everything is made for your skin type, here’s a quick analysis to choose your perfect mask texture besides the ingredients,

Gel Masks

Gel masks have a light, spreadable texture. These are great when your skin needs a hydro-boost, mostly you'll find Hyaluronic and a few other lightweight ingredients including antioxidants, in the ingredients. Gel masks work really well for dry and sensitive skin, help skin to cool down, rehydrate and look firm.

Rubber Masks

Another K-Beauty trend after the sheet masks, these are not actually made out of rubber but an ingredient called alginate. Rubber AKA “Modeling Mask” is a new way of hydration, it delivers the targeted treatment deep into the skin. It’s usually applied as a thick layer so that the ingredients don’t evaporate. These masks are suitable for all skin types, just pick your ingredients wisely.

Jelly Masks

These are great for acne-prone, sensitive skin. Jelly masks have a bouncy texture which help your skin breathe while masking. The texture is somewhat similar to a gel mask and these work great for stressed and irritated skin, make skin supple and smooth.

Creamy Masks

You might not be a Mud/ Clay mask person but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t ask for a deep cleanse. Creamy masks are perfect to clarify and moisturize your skin at the same time. If you are looking for some good options, don’t forget to check out ‘Ikkai', it’s an Indian, cruelty-free and organic skin care brand. Ikkai has a great range of face masks and face souffle, perfect for all skin types.

Mud Masks

Mud masks are hydrating, great for someone with a combination skin. These are known to improve blood circulation and help your skin feel brighter and clearer. If your skin is dry and dull, you should consider giving it a try.

Clay Masks

Clay masks are drying, best for someone with oily and acne-prone skin. The clay can absorb excess oil and dirt from your skin while gently exfoliating the dead skin cells. If you’ve open pores and loose skin, mud masks can really benefit you.

We hope this helped you understand your masking issues, now relax and enjoy your mask, we really don’t need a weekend for that right?
